Cómo solicitar Arkansas Disabled Veteran Homestead & Personal Property Tax Exemption
County collectors (statewide law: Ark. Code § 26-3-306); guidance from the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs
Para quién es
Arkansas fully exempts the home and personal property (such as vehicles) of disabled veterans from property tax. It is for veterans rated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as 100% permanent and total, or who get Special Monthly Compensation for loss or loss of use of limbs or total blindness. Surviving spouses and dependent children may also qualify. The exemption is checked again each year. Apply at your county collector's office with your VA award or benefit summary letter.
Veterans who get Special Monthly Compensation for loss of limbs or blindness can qualify without a 100% rating. Surviving spouses lose the exemption if they remarry. People with this exemption cannot also use the homestead credit or the 65+ assessment freeze. Each county collector checks the VA letter and may ask for a new one each year.
