How to apply for Pinellas County Health Program (PCHP)
Pinellas County Human Services Department
Who it's for
The Pinellas County Health Program (PCHP) is the county's safety-net health coverage program for uninsured adults aged 18 to 64. Patients receive a 'medical home' — a primary care clinic where they can receive primary care plus access to other PCHP-funded services including specialty care, diagnostics, and pharmacy. For patients at or below 100 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, care is free. Patients with family incomes between 101 and 200 percent of FPL pay a sliding-scale fee based on family size and income at Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) clinics. To qualify, you must be a U.S. citizen or non-sponsored legal resident, a Pinellas County resident, between ages 18 and 64, uninsured and unable to pay for needed medical care, ineligible for Medicaid/Medicare/other public assistance programs, and within the income guidelines. Apply online at PinellasHSapp.org or call Pinellas County Human Services at (727) 464-4200.
PCHP is for adults aged 18-64 only. Once you turn 65 and qualify for Medicare, PCHP eligibility ends and you transition to Medicare (potentially with the Medicare Savings Programs / Extra Help to help with premiums and prescriptions). For seniors 65+, this program does NOT apply — the senior-equivalent paths in Pinellas are Medicare + the Medicare Savings Programs + LIS (federal benefits already in this scan). If you are in the 60-64 bracket and uninsured in Pinellas, this is a high-value bridge program — apply online at PinellasHSapp.org or call (727) 464-4200.
