Who it's for

Virginia's Medicare Savings Programs pay Medicare costs for people with limited income and assets. For 2026: QMB (monthly income up to $1,350 single / $1,824 couple) pays Part B premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance; SLMB (up to $1,616 / $2,184) and QI (up to $1,816 / $2,455) pay the Part B premium. Countable resources must be $9,950 or less for one person or $14,910 for a couple. Enrolling also brings automatic Extra Help with prescription drug costs. Apply through CommonHelp or the local Department of Social Services.
