How to apply for Healthy Homes Minor Home Repair (Alameda County)
Alameda County Healthy Homes Department
Who it's for
The Alameda County Healthy Homes Minor Home Repair Program provides repair grants to improve the health and safety of the homes of low-income owner-occupants, including the elderly and people with disabilities, with household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income. The program (funded in part by Measure A) serves unincorporated Alameda County communities — Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, Hayward Acres, Hillcrest Knolls, San Lorenzo, Sunol, and East County rural areas. Apply via the online referral form or by calling 510-736-0024. For larger projects, the separate Renew AC program (administered by Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley at renewac.org) offers low-interest loans for major home repairs to owners up to 80% AMI, with a focus on seniors and people with disabilities.
This program has conditions the scan cannot check for you: your home must be in an eligible unincorporated Alameda County community (Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, Hayward Acres, Hillcrest Knolls, San Lorenzo, Sunol, or East County rural), you must be an owner-occupant, and your household income must be at or below 80% of Alameda County AMI. Confirm these and apply by calling 1-510-736-0024.
