Asked on its own, a chatbot can invent program names and misstate income limits. Connected, it calls these three tools and relays results decided by deterministic rules, each tied to an official government source.

Lists every federal, state, and county program that applies where someone lives — each with its official .gov source and a last-verified date.

Age and ZIP are enough to start. Every extra detail the assistant shares (income, household size, veteran status) turns a maybe into a definite answer.

- 1Open claude.ai (or the Claude desktop app) and go to Settings → Connectors.
- 2Choose Add custom connector.
- 3Name it DiscoverSeniorBenefits and paste the address above. Leave the advanced fields empty.
- 4In a new chat, make sure the connector is switched on under the tools menu, then ask a benefits question.
ChatGPT
- 1Open ChatGPT Settings → Connectors. On some plans, custom connectors first need Developer mode, under Connectors → Advanced.
- 2Choose Create (or Add) custom connector.
- 3Name it DiscoverSeniorBenefits, paste the address above, and pick No authentication.
- 4Enable it from the tools menu in a chat, then ask away.
Other MCP clients
The connector speaks the open Model Context Protocol over Streamable HTTP, so any MCP-compatible client can use it. For example, in Claude Code:

Privacy
- No account, sign-up, or key is needed to use the connector.
- Eligibility checks are not saved — nothing typed in the chat is stored on this site.
- The conversation itself stays with your AI assistant, under its privacy policy.
- Never share a Social Security number in any chat. The check never needs one.

- Results are estimates from the connected profile details. The full benefits check on this site asks more questions and gives more definite answers.
- Coverage spans federal programs plus every county in the covered states — the assistant will say when a ZIP isn't covered yet.
- Every program result carries its official source link and a last-verified date, same as on the website.
