How to apply for Space Coast Area Transit ADA + TD Paratransit
Space Coast Area Transit (SCAT), a Brevard County government department
Who it's for
Space Coast Area Transit (SCAT) operates a shared-ride paratransit service for Brevard County residents whose disability prevents them from using fixed-route 321Transit buses, and for Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) riders without ADA-qualifying disabilities but with no other transportation option. The service is door-to-door and operates within the SCAT service area during fixed-route service hours. ADA Paratransit eligibility follows federal ADA standards — applicants must demonstrate that a disability functionally prevents independent use of fixed-route buses. TD Paratransit is Florida's state-funded pathway for low-income riders without ADA qualification. Apply for either pathway through the SCAT eligibility process: contact the RideLine at 321-633-1878 to request an application packet; complete the application with medical or income documentation as required; submit by mail or in person. SCAT also runs a Volunteers In Motion service that supplements paratransit for non-emergency medical and essential trips when capacity allows. The 321Transit website at 321transit.com is the central application and eligibility portal.
SCAT paratransit eligibility is decided by the application + medical documentation review (ADA pathway) or income verification (TD pathway) — not by diagnosis or age alone. This scan can tell you that you appear functionally eligible to apply. Two pathways share the SCAT intake: federal ADA paratransit for riders functionally unable to use fixed-route buses, and Florida Transportation Disadvantaged for low-income riders without ADA qualification. Call the RideLine at 321-633-1878 to request the application packet. If your trip is non-emergency medical or essential and SCAT capacity is full, ask about Volunteers In Motion as a supplement.
