How to apply for StarMetro Senior Reduced Fare (60+)

StarMetro — City of Tallahassee Transit

Who it's for

StarMetro is the City of Tallahassee's public fixed-route bus system, serving the Leon County urban core. Distinctively among major-Florida transit systems, StarMetro extends its reduced-fare eligibility starting at age 60 — most peer transit agencies start at age 65. Riders 60 and older pay $0.60 per single-ride cash fare (compared to the standard adult $1.25). Eligibility documentation is straightforward — show a Medicare card, a StarMetro-approved human-service-agency card, or any government-issued photo ID showing age 60+ at the farebox. The same reduced-fare category covers riders with disabilities. Discounted multi-ride passes and 31-day passes are also available at the senior/reduced rate. For specific pass purchases or to confirm eligibility, call StarMetro at (850) 891-5200.

What you'll need

  • Proof of age 60+ (Florida driver's license, Florida ID, U.S. passport, Medicare card, or birth certificate)
  • Or: a StarMetro-approved human-service-agency card
