How to apply for AAA Pasco-Pinellas Senior Meals + In-Home Services (Pasco)
Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. (AAAPP) — designated AAA and ADRC for PSA 5
Who it's for
The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. (AAAPP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designated by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs as the Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Center for Planning and Service Area 5 — which spans both Pasco and Pinellas counties. AAAPP has administered Older Americans Act services for Pasco seniors since 1974. Through its contracted lead agencies in Pasco, AAAPP delivers a comprehensive senior service portfolio: hot meals at congregate sites and home-delivered Meals on Wheels, case management, in-home personal care and homemaking, adult day care, transportation, caregiver support and respite, emergency alert response systems (PERS), health and wellness programs, legal assistance, and chore services. Pasco's geography — large, partly rural, and with population centers spread across New Port Richey, Dade City, Land O' Lakes, and Wesley Chapel — means service availability varies by location: congregate sites are denser in the urbanized west and south, while home-delivered serves the entire county. Eligibility is broadly age 60+ and Pasco residency. Apply through the AAAPP Helpline at 727-217-8111 or the Florida Elder Helpline at 1-800-963-5337; AAAPP staff can determine eligibility for all programs at the same intake.
Congregate meals require only age 60+ and Pasco residency — call AAAPP at 727-217-8111 to be assigned to a meal site (sites are denser in the urbanized west and south of the county). Home-delivered meals and in-home services additionally require documented functional need — an AAAPP case manager makes that determination, and most service categories operate a waitlist. There is no income or asset test for OAA services, but participants are offered the option to contribute voluntarily based on means; no one is denied for inability to pay. Pasco's larger geography means home-delivered routes can be longer and providers fewer than in Pinellas — service is available everywhere but capacity is more constrained in rural eastern Pasco.
