Southwestern Commission Area Agency on Aging (Region A) — the designated Area Agency on Aging under the Older Americans Act for the seven far-western North Carolina counties (Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Swain). Coordinates Family Caregiver Support, Medicare counseling (SHIIP), the Home and Community Care Block Grant, congregate and home-delivered meals, in-home aide services, and long-term care options counseling through county senior centers.
