How to apply for Yancey County DSS — Energy Assistance: LIEAP & Crisis Intervention (Yancey County)

Who it's for

North Carolina's Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) gives a one-time payment toward heating bills, and the Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) helps when a household faces a heating or cooling emergency. Both are run through the Yancey County Department of Social Services. Households with someone age 60+ or a person with disabilities who gets services through the NC Division of Aging may apply starting December 1; other households apply January 1 through March 31 or until funds run out.
