How to apply for Medicare Savings Programs in Oklahoma (QMB Plus, SLMB, QI-1)

Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) decides eligibility; the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) pays the benefits

Who it's for

Oklahoma's Medicare Savings Programs help people with Medicare pay their Medicare costs. Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Plus (QMBP) coverage can pay Medicare premiums, co-payments, and deductibles. The Specified Low Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB) and Qualifying Individual (QI-1) groups help pay the Medicare Part B premium. For 2026, countable monthly income can be up to $1,350 for one person or $1,824 for a couple for QMBP, $1,616 or $2,184 for SLMB, and $1,816 or $2,455 for QI-1. For all three, savings and other countable resources can be up to $9,950 for one person or $14,910 for a couple. Apply through your local OKDHS Human Services Center, or call 405-522-5050 for help applying online.

Shown against the highest tier (QI-1); lower income qualifies for more help. You must have or be able to get Medicare. The limits are for countable income and include a $20 disregard. Limits change each year. OKDHS makes the final decision.
