How to apply for Oklahoma Medicare Assistance Program (MAP), Oklahoma's SHIP for Medicare counseling

Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID)

Who it's for

The Oklahoma Insurance Department's Medicare Assistance Program (MAP) runs Oklahoma's State Health Insurance Counseling Program (SHIP). Trained, certified counselors give one-on-one help, counseling, and education to people with Medicare, their families, and caregivers. Counselors give objective help with Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare prescription drug coverage, and Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans. They also help people with limited income apply for Medicaid, the Medicare Savings Program, and Extra Help, which lower health care costs. MAP also runs the Senior Medicare Patrol, which teaches people how to spot and report Medicare fraud. Call MAP at the in-state toll-free number, 1-800-763-2828, or the direct line, 405-521-6628.

Counselors help you understand your choices and apply. Medicare, Social Security, or the state makes the decision on any benefit.
