How to apply for SNAP food benefits in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS)

Who it's for

SNAP is a monthly benefit that helps you buy food using an EBT card. Your benefit amount depends on your household size, income, and expenses. Starting October 1, 2026, the gross monthly income limit for most households is $1,729 for one person or $2,345 for two (130 percent of the federal poverty level). Households with a member who is 60 or older, or disabled, only have to meet the net income limit after deductions: $1,330 for one person or $1,804 for two. The most one person can get is $306 a month, and two people can get up to $562. Apply online at okdhslive.org, or mail or drop off a printed Request for Benefits form at your local Oklahoma Human Services Center. After you apply, you will complete an interview. Applications are completed within 30 days, often sooner.

Income limits are guidelines. Households with a member who is 60 or older or disabled are judged under special rules and can deduct some medical and housing costs, so apply even if your income is above the gross limit. Expenses count only if you report them and give proof. OKDHS makes the final decision and sets the benefit amount after an interview.
