How to apply for Pennsylvania LIHEAP — Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (Cash + Crisis + Weatherization)

Who it's for

PA LIHEAP has three components: (1) Cash Component (lump-sum heating grant); (2) Crisis Component (utility shut-off / fuel-out emergencies); (3) Crisis Interface (for emergency furnace repair or replacement). Eligibility approximately at 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Application window typically opens November 1 and runs through April. Apply through the county Assistance Office (CAO), at COMPASS (compass.state.pa.us), or by calling LIHEAP at 866-857-7095.

Application windows are seasonal (typically November-April). PA LIHEAP is one of the better-funded programs nationally given the state's harsh winters.
