How to apply for MyRide TN Southeast — Volunteer Door-to-Door Transportation (Rhea County)
Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability (SETAAAD), part of the Southeast Tennessee Development District — the designated AAAD for ten counties: Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea and Sequatchie.
Who it's for
Volunteer-assisted, door-to-door rides to essential appointments for older adults, run by SETAAAD as part of the statewide MyRide TN network. Trained volunteer drivers pick riders up at the door and stay with them through the appointment. Riders complete a short screening and application once, then call to schedule rides. Call (423) 424-4201 or email MyRide@sedev.org to start the screening.
Riders must be age 60 or older and able to walk independently or with a walker or cane — this is not a wheelchair-accessible paratransit service. A short screening and application must be completed before rides can be scheduled. Rides are low-cost rather than free: SETAAAD describes them as "affordable and adaptable to the needs of the rider" and publishes no fare table.
