South Coast Business (SCB) is the Area Agency on Aging for Coos and Curry counties. It helps people 60 and over with information and assistance, home-delivered and group meals, legal help, Medicare counseling, caregiver support, Oregon Project Independence and options counseling. SCB's Curry County Senior Services office is at Pelican's Perch, 1216 Moore Street, Suite 214, in Brookings. Call 541-412-8820. Medicaid long-term care is handled by the state Aging and People with Disabilities offices in Gold Beach and Brookings.
AAA services are free or donation-based; program enrollments the agency helps with have their own eligibility rules. Most Older Americans Act services start at age 60.
