Area Agency on Aging services (South Coast Business) — Curry
CountySouth Coast Business (SCB) is the Area Agency on Aging for Coos and Curry counties. It helps people 60 and over with information and assistance, home-delivered and group meals, legal help, Medicare counseling, caregiver support, Oregon Project Independence and options counseling. SCB's Curry County Senior Services office is at Pelican's Perch, 1216 Moore Street, Suite 214, in Brookings. Call 541-412-8820. Medicaid long-term care is handled by the state Aging and People with Disabilities offices in Gold Beach and Brookings.

LIHEAP energy assistance (Oregon Coast Community Action) — Curry
CountyOregon Coast Community Action (ORCCA) helps low-income households in Coos and Curry counties pay part of their energy costs, based on available funding. As of September 2026, ORCCA had stopped taking applications for the 2025-26 program year and planned changes for the year starting October 1, including stricter Social Security card rules. People who are homebound can call for another way to apply. Submit documents at the Gold Beach DHS office (Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 94145 5th Pl.) or the Coos Bay office, or by email to energy@orcca.us. Call 541-435-7080 ext. 264 and leave a detailed message.

CountyCurry Health Network runs Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach and clinics in Curry County. Its financial assistance policy offers free or discounted, medically necessary care to people who are uninsured, underinsured, not eligible for a government program, or unable to pay. Families with income at or below 450% of the federal poverty level are eligible for a discount on a sliding scale. Applicants generally need at least six months of Oregon residency (with exceptions for emergency care). Call a financial counselor at 541-247-3855.

Dial-A-Ride (Curry Public Transit) — Curry
CountyCurry Public Transit runs Dial-A-Ride buses in Brookings (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Gold Beach (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). All buses are wheelchair accessible and service is curb to curb. Reservations are required — four hours' notice is preferred, and reservations stop one hour before departure. Call the dispatcher at 541-412-8806 (8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays) with your pickup and drop-off addresses. Saturday service is suspended, so call for current hours.
