Who it's for
Lane County's LIHEAP program can help pay for electric, natural gas, firewood, propane, pellets or heating oil. It is first come, first served and gives a one-time credit to your utility account. The county page says LIHEAP closed for the 2026 program year on September 4, 2026, and to check back in November for the 2027 year. People 60 and over apply through senior agencies, such as Campbell Community Center in Eugene (541-682-5354), Willamalane Adult Activity Center in Springfield (541-736-4406), Senior Connections sites in Cottage Grove, Florence and Oakridge, Fern Ridge Service Center in Veneta (541-682-7806), and Viking Sal Senior Center in Junction City (541-682-7801). Household gross income must be at or below the county's limit (for example, $3,198 a month for one person or $4,183 for two). At least one person in the home must have a Social Security number.
The Community Action Agency decides eligibility and the benefit amount, and help depends on available funds. Statewide income screening lives on or.state.liheap.
