Lane Council of Governments (LCOG) Senior & Disability Services is the aging and disability agency for Lane County. Its Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) is a free service for older people, people with disabilities, and caregivers, regardless of income. It helps with community resources, caregiver support, and long-term care options, and it takes requests to apply for Senior & Disability Services programs such as Medicaid long-term care, Oregon Project Independence, and senior meals. Lane County's LIHEAP program can help pay for electric, natural gas, firewood, propane, pellets or heating oil. It is first come, first served and gives a one-time credit to your utility account. The county page says LIHEAP closed for the 2026 program year on September 4, 2026, and to check back in November for the 2027 year. People 60 and over apply through senior agencies, such as Campbell Community Center in Eugene (541-682-5354), Willamalane Adult Activity Center in Springfield (541-736-4406), Senior Connections sites in Cottage Grove, Florence and Oakridge, Fern Ridge Service Center in Veneta (541-682-7806), and Viking Sal Senior Center in Junction City (541-682-7801). Household gross income must be at or below the county's limit (for example, $3,198 a month for one person or $4,183 for two). At least one person in the home must have a Social Security number.

PeaceHealth runs Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Lane County's largest hospital, plus PeaceHealth hospitals in Florence and Cottage Grove. Patients can apply for PeaceHealth financial assistance before, during or after care. It covers medically necessary, urgent and emergency care, with help based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines adjusted for family size, and no patient is denied care for inability to pay. Lane Transit District (LTD) runs RideSource, a shared-ride ADA paratransit service in Eugene and Springfield for people who cannot use the regular bus because of a disability. It runs within about 3/4 mile of bus routes during bus hours, and the fare is $3.50 per one-way trip. Book by 5 p.m. the day before; there are no same-day rides. Riders 65 and older can also ride LTD buses for free with an Honored Rider pass from an LTD Customer Service Center.
