How to apply for Home energy bill help (LIHEAP) through Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council — Crawford in Arkansas

Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council (CSCDC)

Who it's for

Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council (CSCDC) takes LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) applications for households in Crawford and Sebastian Counties. LIHEAP helps with heating costs in winter and cooling costs in summer. Regular help is a fixed benefit based on household income, household size and fuel type; Crisis help can prevent a shut-off, restore service or provide fuel when it runs out. The winter program usually opens in January and the summer program in July, when federal funds arrive; CSCDC says the winter program reopens January 4, 2027. You can apply online, in person, by email at utilities@cscdccaa.org or by mail. The office at 1617 Zero Street in Fort Smith is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 479-785-2303, ext. 100. LIHEAP never charges a fee to apply.

Income limits are set each year by the Arkansas Energy Office; help is first-come, first-served, depends on federal funds, and CSCDC decides eligibility.
