How to apply for AR SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program), Arkansas's SHIP for free Medicare counseling

Arkansas Insurance Department (AID), Senior Health Insurance Information Program (AR SHIIP)

Who it's for

AR SHIIP is Arkansas's State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). It connects people with Medicare, and their families, with certified counselors across the state. Counselors give free, one-on-one help by phone or in person on Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement plans, and Medicare Part D drug coverage. They can also check whether you qualify for Extra Help with prescription drug costs and look for other ways to lower your Medicare costs. Call AR SHIIP toll-free at 1-800-224-6330.

Counseling is free and does not sell insurance. Counselors help you understand your choices and apply, but Medicare, Social Security, or the state makes the decision on any benefit.

People who qualify for one senior program often qualify for others. See everything you may qualify for — free, no SSN, about five minutes.
