How to apply for Arizona Property Tax Refund (Credit) — Form 140PTC

Arizona Department of Revenue

Who it's for

This is a refundable Arizona income-tax credit (up to $502) for low-income residents who are 65 or older, or who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). It helps with property tax OR rent paid on your main Arizona home — so renters can claim it too. You must have lived in Arizona all year and have very low household income (as defined for this credit). File Form 140PTC by April 15.

To qualify you must be 65+ OR receiving SSI, an Arizona resident all year, and have very low household income — under $3,751 if you live alone, or under $5,501 if others live with you. Note: for THIS credit, 'household income' EXCLUDES Social Security, railroad retirement, and VA disability benefits, which is why the caps look low — many seniors on Social Security still qualify. Renters can claim it too. Maximum credit is $502; file Form 140PTC by April 15.

What you'll need

  • Form 140PTC
