How to apply for OC ACCESS Paratransit (Orange County)
Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)
Who it's for
OC ACCESS is OCTA's shared-ride ADA paratransit service for Orange County residents whose functional abilities prevent them from using fixed-route OC Bus — applicants who cannot board or exit fixed-route buses, cannot reach bus stops due to physical or environmental barriers, or cannot understand bus operations due to a cognitive disability. Eligibility is functional, not diagnosis-based, and is determined through an in-person assessment that takes roughly one hour. The base fare is $3.60 per one-way trip for up to 5 miles, with each additional mile charged at the taxi-meter rate; one Personal Care Attendant rides free, and a companion is permitted but pays the standard $3.60. Approved eligibility may be valid for up to 5 years.
ADA paratransit eligibility is functional, not diagnosis-based, and is determined by an in-person assessment of roughly one hour — the scan cannot perform that evaluation. Schedule the assessment by calling 1-714-560-5956 (option 2) or emailing accesseligibility@octa.net; do not mail in the application packet.
