Who it's for
The Orange County Office on Aging is the county's designated Area Agency on Aging under the federal Older Americans Act, and the gateway for residents age 60 and older to find and connect to senior services across Orange County. Core services include: information and assistance (1-714-480-6450, toll-free 1-800-510-2020), which screens callers and refers them to the right programs; the Aging & Disability Resource Connection (ADRC); HICAP, free one-to-one Medicare and health-insurance counseling (delivered through Council on Aging–Southern California); Older Americans Act Title III nutrition (congregate lunch sites and home-delivered meals through contracted providers); the Family Caregiver Support Program; the Long-Term Care Ombudsman; and referrals to In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) and legal aid. The Office on Aging also leads the county's Master Plan for Aging. Any Orange County resident 60 or older can call the information and assistance line to get a personalized list of the programs and services they qualify for.
