How to apply for General Assistance (San Benito County)

San Benito County Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA)

Who it's for

San Benito County General Assistance (GA) is administered by the County HHSA and provides cash aid to indigent adults who are not eligible for federal or state cash-aid programs. For a low-income senior it is mainly a bridge while a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) claim is pending. HHSA can send you an application by email or mail, help you fill out an application over the phone, or you can apply in person at the HHSA office at 1111 San Felipe Road, Suite 206, Hollister. For Public Assistance call 1-831-636-4180, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
