How to apply for General Assistance (Shasta County)

Who it's for

Shasta County's General Assistance (sometimes called General Relief) program is a county-funded cash-aid program for indigent adults who are not eligible for federal or state cash-assistance programs. For a low-income senior it is mainly a bridge while a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) claim is pending. To qualify you must be an adult Shasta County resident with limited income and resources who is not eligible for other categorical aid.
