How to apply for StanRTA "The S" Senior Half Fare (Stanislaus County)

Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority (StanRTA)

Who it's for

StanRTA operates "The S" — the combined Modesto Area Express (MAX), Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT), and Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride (MADAR) service that merged into one agency. Seniors, people with disabilities, Medicare cardholders, and veterans qualify for the Half Fare program: cash/day pass $1, 7-day pass $5, 31-day pass $20 — roughly half the regular fare on all StanRTA routes across Stanislaus County. Riders show one of: a StanRTA Half Fare Discount Card, a Medicare card, an ADA Paratransit Eligibility Card, or a veteran ID. To purchase the Half Fare Discount Card or get an application, visit the Downtown Modesto Transit Center Customer Service Office, mail a request to StanRTA at 912 11th Street Suite 100, Modesto CA 95354, or call 1-209-477-7011.
