How to apply for Tampa General Hospital Crystal River Financial Assistance

Who it's for

Tampa General Hospital Crystal River is the Citrus County campus of the TGH North network (formerly Bravera Health, previously HCA Seven Rivers Hospital). Now operating as part of Tampa General Hospital — Florida's premier academic medical center affiliated with the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine — TGH Crystal River applies the substantially more generous TGH system-wide Financial Assistance Policy. Under the TGH FAP: (a) Charity — patients with annual household income between 0 and 300 percent of Federal Poverty Level receive a full charity discount (100% bill elimination) for emergent or medically necessary care; (b) Charity Catastrophic — patients are not billed if non-elective hospital charges exceed 25 percent of their annual household income (regardless of FPL tier); (c) Uninsured Discount Tier 1 — patients between 300-400% FPL pay an amount equivalent to traditional Medicare/managed Medicaid rates; (d) Uninsured Discount Tier 2 — patients above 400% FPL pay managed care insurance equivalent rates. The 300% FPL full-charity threshold is the most generous standard policy in the modeled FL cluster (more generous than AdventHealth's 250% and UF Health's 200%).
