How to apply for NCH Healthcare System Financial Assistance + Uninsured Discount
Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH Healthcare System) — private nonprofit, dominant Collier County hospital system operating Naples Community Hospital, NCH North Naples Hospital, and ancillary services
Who it's for
NCH Healthcare System (Naples Comprehensive Health) is the dominant healthcare system in Collier County, operating two hospitals — Naples Community Hospital in downtown Naples and NCH North Naples Hospital — along with a network of physician practices and ancillary services. NCH is a private nonprofit (not a public hospital district) with §501(r) charity-care obligations under the Internal Revenue Code. NCH's financial assistance has two distinctive layers. First, a flat 60 percent discount is automatically available to uninsured patients on hospital-based services (regardless of FPL bracket) — pay the discounted amount within 60 days and the account is closed. This is NOT means-tested and is the simplest cost-relief pathway in the catalog. Second, for patients who qualify for further help, NCH has staff who assist with Medicaid applications, the Florida Marketplace, and the Collier County welfare program. NCH publicly commits to continuing care for patients even after government welfare funding is depleted: 'NCH takes care of everyone, regardless of ability to pay.' Call (239) 624-3600 for Naples Community Hospital billing assistance, or (239) 624-5121 for NCH North Naples Hospital.
NCH's 60% uninsured discount is NOT means-tested — any uninsured patient with hospital-based services qualifies, regardless of income. The discount is applied automatically at billing; you don't need to submit a Financial Assistance Application to get it, but you must pay the discounted amount within 60 days for it to fully apply. For patients who can't afford even the 60%-discounted amount, deeper charity care is available based on Federal Poverty Guidelines — NCH staff help applicants qualify for Medicaid, Marketplace, or the Collier County welfare program in addition to NCH's own assistance. NCH publicly states they continue seeing patients even after government welfare funds are depleted. The modeled $62,400 income cap is approximately 400% FPL for a single-person household (the deeper charity-care upper bound); the 60% uninsured discount has NO income cap.

- Proof of family size
- Photo identification
- Documentation of any other healthcare coverage applications (Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace) — NCH staff assist with these
