How to apply for Gulf County SHIP Owner-Occupied Home Rehabilitation in Florida

Gulf County SHIP office, administered by the Apalachee Regional Planning Council (State Housing Initiatives Partnership)

Who it's for

Gulf County uses state SHIP money to repair homes owned and lived in by low-income households. The program can lend up to $60,000, interest-free, for repairs. Health and safety problems, code violations and changes for a disability (ADA) come first. There is no cost to apply. Applications open after a 30-day public notice, usually in July, and are taken until the money runs out. Apply through the Apalachee Regional Planning Council's online portal. You must have an appointment; call the SHIP office at 850-312-3932.

You must own the home and live in it. The help is an interest-free loan, and money is limited each year. The screen uses the 2026 SHIP low-income limit for one person in Gulf County ($48,200); bigger households have higher limits (for example $55,100 for two). The county makes the final decision.
