How to apply for LakeXpress Fixed-Route + Lake County Connection Paratransit

Who it's for

Lake County Transit Division operates LakeXpress — nine fixed-route bus routes serving Leesburg, Tavares, Eustis, Mount Dora, Fruitland Park, Lady Lake, Clermont, and other Lake County communities Monday through Friday. Fixed-route fare is $1.00 one-way, with a half-price reduced fare ($0.50) for seniors age 60+ and persons with disabilities (qualifying ID required). Lake County Connection is the county's shared-ride, door-to-door paratransit service for people whose disability, age (60+), or income status prevents them from using LakeXpress. Lake County Connection eligibility is the Florida Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) pathway — qualifying through any one of age 60+, physical/mental disability, or low-income status. A key feature: Lake County Connection routinely travels OUTSIDE Lake County for authorized medical purposes — trips to Orlando on Tuesday and Thursday (Orange County hospitals), and trips to Gainesville on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (UF Health Shands tertiary referrals). The cross-county medical service is particularly valuable for seniors needing specialty care that isn't available at Leesburg or Waterman. Reservations should be made at least 3 days in advance.
