How to apply for Advantage Aging Solutions Senior Meals + ADRC Services (Leon)
Advantage Aging Solutions (AAS) — Area Agency on Aging + ADRC for PSA 2 (14-county Big Bend region)
Who it's for
Advantage Aging Solutions (AAS) is the nonprofit Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Center designated by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs for Planning and Service Area 2 — a 14-county Big Bend region anchored by Leon County (Tallahassee). For Leon residents, AAS coordinates Older Americans Act Title III nutrition through contracted local providers and the Leon County Senior Outreach program: hot meals at congregate dining sites across Tallahassee and surrounding areas, and home-delivered meals for seniors who cannot leave home due to illness, disability, or frailty. The same intake screens for the full AAS portfolio: case management, in-home personal care, caregiver respite, Alzheimer's Disease Initiative services, elder abuse prevention, and health and wellness education. Eligibility is broadly age 60+ and PSA 2 residency. Apply through the Elder Helpline at 866-467-4624 or the Florida statewide Elder Helpline at 1-800-963-5337; trained staff conduct a telephone assessment to place you on the prioritized client list for all eligible programs.
Congregate meals require only age 60+ and Leon residency — call AAS at 866-467-4624 to be referred to a Tallahassee-area meal site. Home-delivered meals additionally require documented homebound status or functional inability to prepare meals — a case manager makes that determination, and most service categories operate a prioritized client list (waitlist). There is no income or asset test for OAA services, but participants are offered the option to contribute voluntarily based on means; no one is denied for inability to pay. AAS is the entry point for the full PSA 2 senior service portfolio — calling 866-467-4624 also screens for CCE, HCE, ADI, and elder abuse prevention services.
What you'll need

- Proof of Leon County residency (utility bill, lease, or government correspondence)
- For home-delivered meals: documentation supporting homebound status or functional need (typically a physician's note or AAS case manager assessment)
