How to apply for AAA Pasco-Pinellas Senior Meals + In-Home Services
Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. (AAAPP) — designated AAA and ADRC for PSA 5
Who it's for
The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. (AAAPP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit designated by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs as the Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Center for Planning and Service Area 5 — covering both Pinellas and Pasco counties. AAAPP has administered Older Americans Act services for Pinellas seniors since 1974. Through its contracted lead agencies and service providers, AAAPP delivers a comprehensive senior service portfolio: home-delivered and congregate hot meals, case management, in-home personal care and homemaking, adult day care, transportation, caregiver support and respite, emergency alert response systems (PERS), health and wellness programs, legal assistance, and chore services. Eligibility is broadly age 60+ and Pinellas residency (Pinellas applicants only; Pasco applicants use the same agency but trigger separate programs). Apply through the AAAPP Helpline at 727-217-8111 or the Florida Elder Helpline at 1-800-963-5337; AAAPP staff can determine eligibility for all programs at the same intake.
Congregate meals require only age 60+ and Pinellas residency — call AAAPP at 727-217-8111 to be assigned to a meal site. Home-delivered meals and in-home services additionally require documented functional need (illness, disability, or frailty preventing meal prep or independent living) — an AAAPP case manager makes that determination, and most service categories operate a waitlist. There is no income or asset test for OAA services, but participants are offered the option to contribute voluntarily based on means; no one is denied for inability to pay.
What you'll need
- Proof of age 60+ (Florida driver's license, Florida ID, or birth certificate)
- Proof of Pinellas County residency (utility bill, lease, or government correspondence)
- For home-delivered meals or in-home services: documentation supporting functional need (typically a physician's note or AAAPP case manager assessment)
