How to apply for Citrus Connection Senior Reduced Fare (Polk County)
Citrus Connection — operated by the Lakeland Area Mass Transit District (LAMTD), a Polk County regional transit body
Who it's for
Citrus Connection is Polk County's public fixed-route bus system, operated by the Lakeland Area Mass Transit District (LAMTD). It serves Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Lake Wales, and surrounding Polk communities. Riders age 65 and older qualify for the Senior/Disabled Day Pass at $1.50 for unlimited 24-hour travel (versus the standard adult rate), or a 10-pack of Day Passes for $15. Discounts are loaded onto Citrus Connection's SMARTCARD — to enroll, show proof of age (Medicare card, Florida driver's license, Florida ID, or U.S. passport) to a customer service representative before buying your SMARTCARD; without verification, you'll be charged the full adult rate. The same reduced-fare category covers riders with disabilities. Customer service is available at 855-POLKBUS (855-765-5287) or (863) 534-5500.
