How to apply for St. Lucie ART Paratransit + Advantage Ride (Door-to-Door)
St. Lucie Area Regional Transit (ART) — Paratransit + Advantage Ride Programs
Who it's for
St. Lucie County offers two paired door-to-door transportation programs through Area Regional Transit (ART). ART Paratransit provides ADA-compliant door-to-door service within 3/4 mile of fixed-route corridors for riders whose disability prevents independent use of the Treasure Coast Connector buses. ART Advantage Ride extends door-to-door service to a larger geographic area for riders who meet eligibility under the Florida Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) program or other categorical eligibility. Both services are fare-free for eligible riders (consistent with ART's universal free fixed-route policy). To apply, download the application, complete the General Medical Form, and any applicable specialty forms (Vision, Epilepsy/Seizure, Cognitive), then submit to the Eligibility Specialist. ART also operates ART On Demand microtransit in select zones — a smartphone-app booking service that complements fixed-route and paratransit. Apply by calling the Eligibility Specialist at (772) 462-1778 #3, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The ART office is at 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
ART Paratransit eligibility requires the completed application, General Medical Form, and any applicable specialty forms (Vision, Epilepsy or Seizure, Cognitive). The ADA pathway requires demonstration that disability functionally prevents fixed-route use; the Advantage Ride pathway (Florida TD) has a larger service area but its own eligibility criteria. Both programs are fare-free for eligible riders — combined with the universal free fixed-route ART, St. Lucie has effectively NO out-of-pocket cost for any qualifying senior transit need. Apply by calling the Eligibility Specialist at (772) 462-1778 #3 or visit the ART office at 2300 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce.
