How to apply for Breeze Plus Paratransit (Sarasota County)
Sarasota County Breeze Transit — Breeze Plus, operated by Via
Who it's for
Breeze Plus is Sarasota County's shared-ride paratransit service for residents whose disability prevents them from using fixed-route Breeze Transit buses. Distinctively, Breeze Plus is operated by Via — a private mobility-platform company that provides app-based trip booking on the Breeze Plus app, in addition to the traditional phone-based dispatch. The program supports three eligibility pathways: ADA paratransit (federal), Transportation Disadvantaged (TD, a Florida state-funded pathway for low-income riders without ADA-qualifying disabilities), and Veterans Medical (a Sarasota-specific pathway for medical-appointment trips for veterans). Each one-way trip costs $3. To apply, complete an Eligibility-based Program Application; disabilities must be documented by a qualified medical professional. Approval may be temporary, conditional, or unconditional. Call (941) 861-1018 for eligibility questions and applications; call (941) 777-6000 to schedule trips once approved, or use the Breeze Plus app.
Breeze Plus eligibility is decided by the application + medical documentation review — disability alone does not guarantee eligibility. This scan can tell you that you appear functionally eligible to apply. Approval may be temporary, conditional (eligible only for some trip types or conditions), or unconditional. The same application also screens for the Florida Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) pathway (income-based, no ADA-qualifying disability required) and the Sarasota Veterans Medical pathway (veteran status + medical appointments). Apply at (941) 861-1018.
