How to apply for Breeze Transit Senior Reduced Fare (Sarasota County)

Sarasota County Breeze Transit (formerly Sarasota County Area Transit / SCAT)

Who it's for

Breeze Transit is Sarasota County's public fixed-route bus system — the system was rebranded from Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) in 2024 and now operates under the Breeze name. Seniors age 65 and older qualify for a reduced fare of $0.75 per one-way trip (half the standard adult fare). To activate the reduced rate, present a government-issued photo ID and a Medicare card in person at the Breeze customer service window at the Downtown Sarasota Station or the Venice Depot. A Breeze customer service agent will then enable reduced-fare pass purchasing in the Token Transit mobile app, which lets you buy single rides, day passes, and 31-day passes at the senior rate from your phone. Once enabled, the eligibility persists indefinitely. Call (941) 861-1018 for current routes, schedules, and to confirm eligibility status.
