How to apply for Senior Resource Alliance Senior Meals + ADRC Services (Seminole)

Senior Resource Alliance (SRA) — Area Agency on Aging + ADRC for PSA 7; Seminole meals delivered through contracted local providers

Who it's for

Senior Resource Alliance (SRA) is the nonprofit Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Center designated by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs for Planning and Service Area 7 — covering Brevard, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. For Seminole residents, SRA coordinates Older Americans Act Title III nutrition through contracted local meal providers: congregate dining at senior centers across Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Casselberry, Longwood, and Oviedo, and home-delivered Meals on Wheels for seniors who cannot prepare meals or attend a congregate site. The SRA Elder Helpline at (407) 514-1800 is the integrated entry point for the full PSA 7 senior service portfolio — calling triggers a needs assessment that can route you to nutrition, case management, in-home care, Alzheimer's Disease Initiative services, EHEAP energy assistance, and SHINE Medicare counseling. Eligibility is age 60+ and Seminole residency for congregate meals; home-delivered additionally requires functional documentation of homebound status.

Congregate meals require only age 60+ and Seminole residency — call the SRA Elder Helpline at (407) 514-1800 to be referred to a Seminole meal site. Home-delivered meals additionally require documented homebound status or functional inability to prepare meals — a case manager makes that determination, and most service categories operate a prioritized client list. There is no income or asset test for OAA services, but participants are offered the option to contribute voluntarily based on means; no one is denied for inability to pay. SRA is the integrated entry point for the full PSA 7 senior service portfolio — calling (407) 514-1800 also screens for CCE, HCE, ADI, EHEAP, and SHINE Medicare counseling.

What you'll need

  • Proof of age 60+ (Florida driver's license, Florida ID, or birth certificate)
  • Proof of Seminole County residency (utility bill, lease, or government correspondence)
  • For home-delivered meals: documentation supporting homebound status or functional need (typically a physician's note or SRA case manager assessment)
