How to apply for TransVAC — Fare-Free Senior Transit (DeKalb County)

Who it's for
DeKalb County public transportation is TransVAC, operated by the Voluntary Action Center (serving DeKalb, Sycamore, Genoa, Sandwich, and Northern Illinois University). DISTINCTIVELY, seniors age 60+, people with disabilities, and Medicaid cardholders ride FARE-FREE on TransVAC; the general public pays a modest fare. NIU also runs the Huskie Line campus buses. The Illinois Benefit Access Program provides additional free/reduced fares. Call 815-758-3932 (DeKalb area) or 815-787-6219 (Sandwich) to register or book a ride.
