Pulaski County public transportation is the Shawnee Mass Transit District, the public transit provider for the five southernmost Illinois counties (Alexander, Johnson, Massac, Pulaski, Union), offering curb-to-curb demand-response rides for medical appointments, senior centers, and essential errands across Pulaski County (Mound City, Mounds, Ullin, Villa Ridge, Olmsted, Grand Chain, Pulaski) and longer regional trips (including to the hospitals in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Paducah, Kentucky). Seniors and people with disabilities ride at reduced fares; the Illinois Benefit Access Program (Illinois Department on Aging) provides additional free/reduced fares for income-eligible riders 65+. Schedule rides in advance.
