How to apply for Kansas Senior Care Act (SCA) in-home services for people 60 and older
Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), through the Area Agencies on Aging
Who it's for
The Senior Care Act program helps Kansans aged 60 or older who need some help with self-care and daily living stay in their homes. Services vary by county but may include attendant care, respite care, homemaker, chore services, and adult day care. A plan of care is made after a functional assessment. Services use a sliding fee scale based on income and assets, so customers pay between a donation and 100% of the cost. You must meet the SCA income guidelines and the functional threshold score. KDADS runs the program through the Area Agencies on Aging. Call 1-855-200-2372 to learn about services in your area.
Services depend on a functional assessment, the services offered in your county, and local funding. Your share of the cost depends on the sliding fee scale, which is updated each July. The Area Agency on Aging decides what it can offer.
