OATS Transit
Who it's for
OATS Transit serves Jasper County with Rural demand-response. Wednesdays to Carthage from Joplin, Webb City or Alba; Tuesdays to Joplin from Carthage, Reeds, Avilla, Sarcoxie or rural Joplin; 2nd Thursday monthly to Springfield from Carthage, Reeds, Avilla, Sarcoxie or rural Joplin. Book at 417-887-9272 or 800-770-6287. Fares (one way): "In-town Springfield or rural communities $2.00", in-county $3.00, adjacent county $4.00, long distance (three counties or more) $6.00, each additional en-route stop $1.00; prepay to a rider account, $10.00 minimum. No live City of Joplin fixed-route transit page (Sunshine Lamp Trolley / MAPS) could be found on joplinmo.org - only a Public Transit Human Services Transportation Coordination Plan - so OATS is the verified provider.. Older adults and people with disabilities can use these services for medical appointments, shopping, and other essential trips. Rides are free or low-cost depending on the service. Call 1-417-887-9272 for schedules, eligibility, or to book a ride.
Service areas, reduced-fare eligibility, and ride availability are set by the transit provider, so this shows as a may-qualify result.
