How to apply for Missouri State Veterans Cemeteries

Missouri Veterans Commission

Who it's for

Missouri's five state veterans cemeteries — in Springfield, Higginsville, Bloomfield, Ft. Leonard Wood, and Jacksonville — provide interment for veterans, their spouses, and eligible dependent children at no charge for any of the services provided, including grave opening and closing, headstones, military honors, and perpetual care. Eligibility follows national-cemetery criteria.

Burial eligibility follows national-cemetery criteria verified from military records, and family-member eligibility requires documented relationship — the cemetery confirms eligibility, so this shows as a may-qualify result.

What you'll need

  • DD-214 or other proof of qualifying service
  • For family members: proof of relationship
