How to apply for Coast Transit Authority reduced fares and ADA Paratransit PLUS — Jackson in Mississippi
Coast Transit Authority (CTA)
Who it's for
Coast Transit Authority (CTA) runs buses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including the Ocean Springs route in Jackson County. Senior citizens 60 or older with a CTA ID card pay $0.85 a ride, a Medicare card also gets the $0.85 fare, and riders over 90 with a CTA ID ride free. People with disabilities who have a CTA ID also pay $0.85. For people with disabilities who cannot use the regular bus, CTA's ADA Paratransit PLUS is a countywide, curb-to-curb service in Harrison and Jackson counties, provided as capacity allows. You must first be certified for ADA Paratransit; applications are at the CTA office at 333 DeBuys Rd. in Gulfport or on the CTA website, and a decision can take up to 21 days. Rides must be booked from the day before up to 14 days ahead, 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call CTA at 866-206-8843.
Paratransit PLUS is not required by the ADA and runs as capacity allows. Fares and service areas are set by CTA.
