Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), Division of Aging and Adult Services, with the Area Agencies on Aging
Who it's for
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) gives free, unbiased, and confidential help with Medicare and other health coverage. Trained SHIP counselors help older Mississippians and caregivers understand Medicare benefits, compare policies, review Medicare Supplement insurance, compare Medicare health and drug plans, organize doctor and hospital bills, help with claims and Medicare appeals, understand Medicaid eligibility, and explore long-term care options. Help is available to anyone, regardless of income. Call SHIP at 1-844-822-4622.
Counseling is free and does not sell insurance. Counselors help you understand your choices and apply, but Medicare, Social Security, or the state makes the decision on any benefit.
