How to apply for Forest County Transportation — Senior Shared Ride
Forest County Transportation Department
Who it's for
The Forest County Transportation Department runs the county's shared-ride service from Marienville, by appointment, for Forest County residents. Residents age 65 and older qualify for free and discounted rides for medical appointments, shopping, senior centers, banking, and similar needs — the PA Lottery pays 85% of the senior fare, and an aide may ride along. Veterans under 65 ride free, and residents with a Medical Assistance Access Card and no vehicle in the household may also qualify. Call 814-927-8266 or 1-800-222-1706 to check eligibility and schedule a ride.
Rides are by appointment and for Forest County residents only. The Lottery-subsidized senior fare covers 85% of the cost; the rider or an approved third-party sponsor pays the remaining 15%. Call 814-927-8266 to confirm eligibility before booking.
