Freedom Transit is Washington County's public transit system. Seniors 65 and older ride Freedom Transit fixed-route buses free with a Pennsylvania Senior Citizen Transit ID card, available at the Washington Transit Center. Through the Senior Shared Ride program, Washington County residents 65 and older ride free to the closest senior center or adult day care, pay a reduced copay (7.5% of the fare) for medical visits, and pay 15% of the fare for other trips, such as shopping.
