How to apply for City of Denton Minor Home Repair Program (Denton County) in Texas

City of Denton Community Development, 601 E Hickory St, Suite 115, Denton

Who it's for

The City of Denton helps low- and moderate-income homeowners inside Denton city limits pay for urgent home repairs. Eligible repairs make a home safe, sanitary, livable or accessible: broken plumbing fixtures and sewer lines, unsafe wiring, leaking roofs, broken heating and cooling, and changes such as a wheelchair ramp or wider doorways for a person with a disability. Repairs of up to $24,500 may be covered. The help is a grant: it does not need to be paid back, and no lien is placed on the home. Apply on paper or online, or call Community Development at 940-349-7726.

Only for owner-occupied homes inside Denton city limits. Household income must be under the HUD limit for your household size (the city's posted table lists $65,700 for one person). Cosmetic work, foundation repair and mold removal are not covered, and repairs over $24,500 are not eligible. City staff inspect the home and decide which repairs qualify.
