How to apply for Property tax relief (Cache County) — Cache in Utah
Cache County Auditor — Tax Administration
Who it's for
The Cache County Auditor's Tax Administration office handles property tax relief. The Homeowner's Tax Credit (Circuit Breaker) is for permanent residents who support themselves and are 67 in the year they apply, or a surviving spouse, who meet household income limits; use form TC-90H. People under 65 can get the indigent (hardship) abatement only with an extreme hardship or a disability, as decided by the Cache County Council. The Senior Tax Deferral lets homeowners 75 or older with 2025 household income up to $88,442 put off paying property tax; the deferred tax and interest become a lien on the home. There are also exemptions for veterans with a disability, blind persons and active-duty military. Applications are due every year by September 1 at the Auditor's Office, 179 North Main Suite 112, Logan. Income for all household members is checked. Call 435-755-1706.
The county decides eligibility and the amount of relief under Utah law. Most programs need a new application every year.
