How to apply for HEAT energy assistance (LIHEAP) — SERDA — Grand in Utah

SERDA, Southeastern Regional Development Agency (HEAT office for Carbon, Emery, Grand and San Juan counties)

Who it's for

HEAT (Home Energy Assistance Target) is Utah's year-round energy assistance program for eligible low-income households, paid for by the federal LIHEAP program. The program year runs October 1 to September 30, or until federal LIHEAP funds run out. Households with someone disabled, age 60 or older, or a child under 6 can apply starting October 1; the general public can apply starting November 1. In Grand County, SERDA takes HEAT applications. Apply online, by phone appointment, by mail to P.O. Box 1106, Price, UT 84501, or by email to heat@seualg.utah.gov (send the application and all documents together, with your name on each page). Call the Grand County HEAT line at 435-259-6362. If you are in danger of a shut-off, call your local HEAT office about crisis help.

HEAT pays one benefit per program year and depends on funding; applications close when federal LIHEAP funds run out. The local HEAT office decides eligibility and the payment. Statewide income limits are on the Utah HEAT record (ut.state.heat).
